Interns Allison Nicole Smith & Shianne Gray reflect on their time with Plan-B

Allison Dayne Smith

Plan-B has offered internships to eleven college students since 2007.

Allison Nicole Smith, Westminster College, Theatre Department and founder of Leading Ladies, 2014/15 Season: My internship for Plan-B was simply perfection. I have always admired Plan-B and wanted to be involved in the production company in anyway possible since they came to Westminster College to do a masterclass on Arts Administration.

I truly believe they are one of the best vessels of truth in Utah.

Jerry was my main source of inspiration. He went step by step with me on how a production comes to reality. The actors were respectful and inviting on and off stage. My personal job was to be the prop master for PILOT PROGRAM. I earned such respect for prop masters, producers and the entire process thanks to this internship. A giant perk was the ability to see every show and watch the actors work. It was a great glimpse into how professional, welcoming and groundbreaking Plan-B is for the state of Utah.

Shianne GrayShianne Gray, Westminster College Theatre Department and co-founder of the Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival, 2014/15 Season: Working as an intern for Plan-B was an awesome way to dip my toes in the proverbial pool of professional theatre. My experience was tailored to my personal interests, which range from non-profit administration to design (props for MAMA) and production. It was a great chance to work in a variety of specialties, meet and network with local artists and see fantastic shows.
