Interns Michael Johnson & Carleton Bluford reflect on their time with Plan-B

Plan-B has offered internships to seven college students since 2007. Below are thoughts from Michael Johnson and Carleton Bluford, who will both be working on MARRY CHRISTMAS next month.

Michael Johnson, University of Utah, September 2012-December 2014: As an intern for Plan-B Theatre I have learned what it means to be a part of a community of artists working toward a better society. I have learned the value of a dollar, the value of an hour, and the value of new and exciting work in the theatre.

Carleton Bluford, Weber State University, 2009/10 Season: Being an intern at Plan-B Theatre was not only an honor but one of the best learning experiences I’ve ever had. Jerry teaches by example the ins and outs of keeping a theatre company afloat, all while using your strengths as assets while you learn. Going in, I knew nothing about the LGBT community but when I was an intern, I got to be at the forefront of the battle for equality. You can imagine and do research, but being hands-on is always the best way.”
