After two seasons online and two seasons on hiatus, this free series—which has been providing plays-in-progress their first audience since 2004—returns to the Studio Theatre @ The Rose!

In PHỞ 69: A ROMANCE by first-time playwright Wendy Dang, Mai & Binh are the children of the owners of two rival phở restaurants. Their love story is filled with familial obligation, growth, and an ending everyone deserves.

APHASIA by Dee-Dee Darby-Duffin

In APHASIA by Dee-Dee Darby-Duffin (EllaMental, "DOLs" as part of LOCAL COLOR, "Fried Chicken" as part of FULL COLOR), a mother and daughter struggle to map out a new way to communicate, which they didn't do all that well in the first place. How do you talk to someone who can't answer you back?

We and the Mount Olympus Chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League invite you to join us at UMFA for a reading of KILO-WAT, about the life and legacy of Wat Misaka, to commemorate the Japanese American Day of Remembrance. The post-show discussion includes a conversation with Wat's children, Hank Misaka and Nancy Umemura.
Our 2025 world premiere of KILO-WAT was named of the Top 10 Moments of the Utah Enlightenment in 2025 by The Utah Review.
