Your Mic and You

THE CONTENTS OF YOUR PACKET - **PLEASE READ EVERYTHING ON THIS PAGE AND HAVE YOUR STATION SET UP BEFORE YOUR FIRST REHEARSAL NOTED AS A 'MIC TEST'**

- Tascam mic and cables in the small black bag. Please note the rounded filter/cap on the end of the microphone - be very, very careful with it so it doesn't pop off - it's essential because it mitigates plosives. Once set up, please be sure that the screw cap on your mic cord is firmly tightened to the mic pack. There is also a USB cable for downloading files (see below).

- AA batteries. ~~One battery is already in the device.~~ Each recording session will start with a new battery.

- A Mini-SD card is already in the recorder ready to go. Katie, Kandyce, and Lonzo, you each have an additional SD card in the clear case in the Tascam bag since you are the farthest away from me 🙂

- Table-top music stand in the large black bag. See video. Six of you have these; the video will help all eight of you set up your mic.

- Script pages. You only have copies of the plays you are in.

- Sheet protectors. These are to insert your script pages right before we record each play. Don't put the pages in there before then or it makes note-taking problematic and cumbersome.

- Earbuds. 3.5mm jack for Katie and Brian.

- Baggy of sanitizing wipes. These are provided to wipe down the equipment prior to its retrieval.

THINGS WE LEARNED FROM P.G. ANON and ART & CLASS

- Each time we record, don't do anything until instructed.
- If you are using a solid music stand, it needs to be covered with a towel to mitigate sound bounce.
- Set yourself up in the most enclosed space possible: large, open rooms or facing a window creates sound issues.
- Nothing extraneous should be in your work space when we record
